Los Angeles, March 24: Hundreds of thousands of people from different walks of life took to the streets in Los Angeles, New York, Las Vegas, New Orleans, Washington D.C., and many other cities across the US to demand action to prevent gun violence.
Mass shooting victims, students, teachers, parents, and immigrant organizations marched to demand tougher gun control measures to deter future mass killings.
Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) National Coordination Council (NCC) of America organized a demonstration in Santa Ana near Los Angeles to show its support for the tougher gun laws. Local NRN activists, representatives of local Nepali organizations and public joined the demonstrations. Nepali immigrants’ rally was led Women’s Coordinator of NRN NCC of USA Indira Tripathi and NRN’s California Chapter President Ram Babu Pandey.
“NRNA joined the anti-gun demonstrations to show our solidarity against growing gun violence at schools and other public places,” said Tripathi.
