KATHMANDU, July 14:
Associates Vice -president of the Federation of Nepalese chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Chandra Prasad Dhakal, has formally announced his candidacy for the post of Senior vice-president. Dhakal, who is chairperson of Global-IME Bank announced his candidacy for the the upcoming election scheduled to elect its top position for August 10-11.
As per the FNCCI statue, the senior vice-president will automatically become the next president of the federation for three years terms. The election for the senior vice president is more crucial as the top businessmen are lobbying for their own panel.
Kishor Pradhan, who is also seen as contender has been lobbying for the post.
Associates’ vice-president Dhakal is backed by his panel members, Ram Chandra Sanghai, Umesh Lal Shrestha and Guna Nidhi Tiwari. According to their announcement, Sanghai will be the contender for next associates’ vice-president, Shrestha and Tiwari will fight for vice presidents of commodity and municipal categories respectively.
Dhakal has come up with the slogan ‘Public-private partnership: base for prosperity’. As the election of the apex private body is nearing, the businessmen are also divided in to two factions.
